WORLDWIDE DAY OF FASTING AND PRAYER FOR NORTH KOREA 27th July 2008

The Worldwide Day of Fasting and Prayer for North Korea is a call to Christians worldwide to intercede for the nation of North Korea, which is regarded as the worst persecutor of Christians and the worst human rights violating country in the world today. July 27th is the 55th anniversary of the Korean War armistice and creation of the Demilitarized Zone, the border which divides North and South Korea. Please Pray:

For the Captives to be Set Free:

There are an estimated 200,000 to 1 million North Koreans, including women and children, currently being held in political concentration camps in very cruel conditions. Many are Christians; most are imprisoned because they or their relatives are believed to be critical of the North Korean regime. An estimated 400,000 to 1 million have died in these camps of starvation, torture, and execution since their institution in 1972. Please intercede for the salvation of all prisoners and guards, and for all concentration camps to be permanently closed down.
